[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I don't normally post flower shots although I do take quite a lot as I find it interesting to find out what they are called.

these are the dried flowerheads (or combs) of the Fullers Teasel plant.

Interesting fact.....

The fullers teasel was once cultivated for the cloth trade, the dried spiny flower head was used for raising the nap on cloth.

:-)

Hi Ron, excellent work the 3-D feel is very well achieved with the shallow DOF and this wonderfull backlight. Good sharpness and presented well for a scouser at least :-) rgds Necip.

Hi Ron,
Great shot, the light on these heads shows them off really well with a good DOF, interesting note too, did you get any bired shots here as certain ones love the seeds from these plants.

What an appealing shot of teasel stalks! I like how the light is shining into and through the spine of the flower heads, creating a delicate look they normally don't get credit for:) Well done!

Great shot Ron, good lighting and composition.
Cheers, John.
