I was up before the sun on the 19th as our cruise ship neared Quebec City. This image is of one of the little communities along the St Lawrence Seaway east of Quebec. If you look closely you will notice that the streetlight were still on.

Mario EOSF1 identified the village: "This is the beautiful church of the village of Saint-Jean on Ile-d'Orléans." Thanks Mario.

This is a good example of what Nikon's 18-200 VR lens will do - 200mm - 1/10 sec - f5.6, hand held on a moving ship. There is some vinetting at 200 mm, which is expected.

Thanks for continuing to travel with us.

Hello Daniel,
I love all the wonderful RED roofs.. I see the street lights..
The rolling green landscape is wonderful.... looks like a wonderful cruise..

Tricia

? will that lens fit/work on a Nikon D40X ? I have heard some issues do to manual focus? ( I think?)

hi daniel, a good point of view of this nice scene, i love the red roofs too! well done, thanks scott

LOVE the red roofs here Daniel! nice shot, excellent even tones and nice control of the glare of the sky! Really a super shot!
Linda
B-)

Very pretty pastel tones landscape. The red color of roofs make it more vivid and actually makes this shot.

Hi Dan,
What a high POV you have on this ship.
Hope that church is not in danger of flooding so close to the river.
Hand held on a moving ship - yes I know all about that - did not seem to bother you and your camera.
Good job - TFS and rising early,
Els

Hello DAniel!

Sorry to have missed your recent shots , as I was away from TL for some time. I am gradually catching up . I wished I could have time to meet you in Quebec but I was on duty when you came in Quebec City , and I could not go. I even thought of making a sign and show it on the pier on your arrival (Welcome Boonie ! ) .....

Seriously , well on Sunday morning Dec 2nd , I was excactly on that dock, and drove around that church !Took some shots even. We had our Christmas party at the West end of the Island. You may have noticed a small white Inn at Sainte-Petronille at the ultimate western point of the Island. We stayed there overnight, and did a tour of the island on Sunday morning , before heading back home. I will post one photo in the coming days. (*_^)

The repetition of the red roofs is great against the greeny hills of the island. Well spotted and framed!

Cheers!
Robert

Hello Dany :o)
