Juste another image with Serenissime, its sad, gray, gloomy side...
this photograph represents a covered gondole, moored with a pontoon on the side of the Place San Marco, with in the content, the bell-tower of San Giorgio Maggiore in the course of restoration...

Levels of gray, a little grain to reinforce this austere, but real side.

beautiful moody image of wonderful Venezia.. excellent composition and i love the tones you've acheived which give a slighty old photo look and along with the grain add to the sad melancholy feel that you've succeded beautifully in creating.. lovely work! :-)

Great shot Colonna, love the moody atmosphere you have achieved. The use of black and white is really effective. For me I think I would have tilted a little to the left to straighten the horizon, but having said that it still works, excellent capture. Well done.

In your photo, yes! Venice is Sad ;-) I like the mood this b&w of your have with it's little graint texture that seems perfect to me. And the song matches the mood wonderfully, to bad TL doesn't have sound...
