British Columbia's most prized nature reserves, Pacific Rim National Park
Vancouver Island - Tofino
Tofino lies in the centre of a United Nations World Biosphere Reserve, an ecologically significant area that supports many uncommon plant and animal species. Its scenery, which
includes miles of sandy beaches, stands of massive old-growth cedars and a seascape dotted
with verdant islands, is breathtaking by any standard. Outdoor recreation, such as whale
watching (killer whale, grey whale, humpback whale), surfing, kayaking and beachcombing, is
the be all and end all of a Tofino holiday.
Last weekend before New Years Eve we went to Vancouver Island, Tofino.
What can you do in this time there? For example - storm watching which is
very popular over the winter months. It was breathtaking! |

Hi Ileana
That's brought back memories, I was there last September, great place Tofino, Had a trip on Jamie's Whale watching, there was a great restaurant opposite.
Sorry, but BC is such a great place.
By the way a great shot, with the cloud and mountains
All the best

The mountains dusted so lightly with snow almost smothered by the clouds makes this scene perfect for phototgraphy.
I am sure some people would say it needs to be lightened but having lived in Vancouver, I know the deep dark colors, so in my book this looks awesome.
