[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
In old days, when washing machines weren't knouwn, in Portugal, special in the field, near rivers or foutains, people built covered tanks with stones like those in the photo to work like a colective laudry - the water came clean from the foutain, passed clean by the tank , and leaved out for a hole to the fields around.
The womem, collectively, took out their shoes arrested their skirts and jump into the tank to wash the cloth in those special stones. After washed the cloth were extended at the sun to dry.
In one almost exclusively male society of those anciente days, those locals developed a special conviviality between country women - and has developed also a certain erotic imaginary around these female rites.
This one is in Foz do Arelho, Caldas da Rainha, 90 kms from Lisbon, is one of the few «survivers», but nobody uses them today. And it is a pitty... I'ld like to see...

Gostei muito do aspecto oleoso da água que é obtido com o reflexo. Os contrastes e a composição também estão muito bons.

Great crisp clear reflections captured in a nice natural frame. An interesting composition. Maybe a tighter crop and a frame might improve this nice picture even more!

what a lovely design de graphic you shoot here. Great shapes and play of light is excellent. I love the refelction as it gives some coolnes and clamness into looking it.

I washed on stones when I was in India.
So I am familiar. Now young generation might not heard about it.
