Lonely house by the shore of Loch Scavaig on the Isle of Skye, with the Cullins in the background.

PP Notes:
- This photo was taken on a (typical) misty day. It turned out that the mountains in the background had a strong blue-gray cast that made the photo a bit dull. I isolated the the background and played with contrast and levels until I got a better balance. I also de-saturated the foreground to make the house stand out a bit more.

I posted the original in Workshop

What a freakin great view. Better yet what a great photo. Nice job with the pp work to help with the background and to bring out the foreground better. If I lived in this home, I would never tire of this scenery.....I would get tired of the cold however. Florida tends to thin the blood after sometime. Great work Pierre.

Awesome view. A very good picture.

A charming house and a glorious view! Beautiful composition......:O)

Bravo! Beau coin de rêve!

beautiful Pierre! i've often dreamed of having a little house on a Loch in Scotland like this.. and those typically misty days are so wonderful! lovely composition and depth of field and so peaceful.. excellent :-)

You have a very good picture here with good composition, sharpness and point of view. Adding highlights on the foreground where the house is will improve it.

Well I had seen some house pictures by the lake before ... but never really got an urge to stay in any one of them ... but the house in your picture is very compelling
very nice shot Pierre
well I really don't have the words to let you know how much this picture appealed to me ... and yet I don't know what is it that is appealing ... I guess it is the simplicity of the house ... the quietness of the lake
neways i will leave you herer
ciao
sarju

Salut Pierre, te voilà de retour. Bon voyage?

Quite the view! This is wonderful scenery and the house adds a nice human dimension to it.

Indeed...what a view they have. Scotland looks so much like some our lands here in Canada. Nice colours my friend.
Thanks

I see this photo is on its way to the 50 point mark where it definitely belongs. And I guess it is because it is such a dream place more than anything else. Of course you did a great PP job, and the general composition is fine, but what sets it apart is the dream-like quality of the place. That is how we appeal to others - by showing them their dreams.

Good work with this image. Great composition.

Excellent shot Pierre, I don't know why... this shot give me so much mix feeling, peaceful, sad, lonely and happy in the same time. I can't explain it, and I feel like to have a coffee now... (weird me) I like the composition, infact, everything about this shot I like it. Great stuff! TFS

I like your image here and I think your later cropping was very good. You do have a lot of good details that are just barely there that I think you could bring out. I'll do a workshop to show you.

What a peaceful foto!
Excelent!

Cheers,

Carla

Eric

This is a really beautiful photo Pierre - the setting seems so peaceful. I like the compositon very much, and the greens in the foreground look great against the greys and other pale colours.
