[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Požarevac is a city located in Serbia at 44°37′12″N, 21°11′23″E. It is the administrative center of the Braničevo District, which encompases most of Norther Serbia. In 2002, the city had total population of 41,736.

There are many reasons one might know Požarevac. In 1718 the Treaty of Passarowitz was signed here. And the history of Požarevac goes back way longer to an impressive 435 AD. At that time Požarevac was called Margus. The famous Hun leaders Attila and Bleda and the Byzantine Empire signed a treaty in Margus. Not a very good treaty, because the Huns sacked the city in 442 when invading the Eastern Roman Empire.
Last but not least, they make the Bambi cookies over here. These are Serbia's most famous cookies. Their biggest hit is the Plazma cookie, a health cookie and very populair in Serbia.

Some of the places of cultural importance in Pozarevac are the Serbian National Museum, the Tulba Ethnic Park, and the Milena Pavlovic-Barili Gallery of Paintings (an artist firmly with the surrealistic genre).
