Shrunken human head
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| I took this shot at the Ripley believe it or not museum, it is supposedly a shrunken human head, but I am not too sure myself, it looks close enough, but could be a monkey of a mixed gene type????? |

Quite a spooky shot, Dan. It doesn't look like a shrunken human head to me, at least I definitely don't want to believe it is one. Typical "Ripley" fare though, and well captured.
I tried a workshop ...

I like it, interesting pose from this old face. The one eye almost open peering at us.
Good place for training portrait photos..
I say animal..... but humans did shrink heads in many places of the world... (so I have read)
I've seen shrunken heads before and while this doesn't look like the ones I've seen, it does look like others that collectors I know of have.
It is more human looking than a shrunken sloth or monkey head, but there were many fakes made for naive collectors. Did you get a look at the ears? I can't see any here. The best way to tell a fake is by the details of the ears which shrink down with the same details as a normal ear, but are not so detailed on the fakes.
Just in case you were currious :)
