Open Granada

|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [Spanish] |
Many theories exist about the origin of the name of Granada. The more heterodoxes tie it with personages of the Old Testament (In this case it would come to mean "Cave of Nata" in honor of a supposed daughter of Noah). It is more credible that it comes from the Latin "Hizn Garnata" or "Castle of the pomegranate tree". Poetically it is compared the city with an opened pomegranate, showing his grains, by the motley thing of the small village. View of the city from the San Cristóbal viewpoint, with the Cathedral in middleground. In background, under a layer of cement, the fertile, in the old days, valley of Granada.

In a few short notes you have furnished this photograph with a sense of history, loss, future and identity. Nice work!
A great view, too, well captured with good detail and nicely diffused light, giving a real sense of the old + modern style of this city.
