| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
(re-post) I thought that this photo deserves a little more credit, I posted in on Trekearth and It looked horrible so I tried again and it looked horrible. This is hopefully a decent version.
Cafezal Favela.
I find much beauty in the favelas, I believe it is the resident’s spirit. Even with daily struggle they find things to celebrate. Walking through the streets and alleys you almost always find person smiling and willing to have their photo taken. It is really up-lifting to see this, and to realize that what I have I should never take for granted.
This shot was taken from Casa Luziero a refuge for residents of the favela to get away from the street if only for one day. Here they teach swimming, play foot sol and they even have a roller hockey team that competes with private schools from around Minas Gerais. In the future I hope to return and volunteer at this home. |

This is an impressive photo, I like the detail and cascading array of colours in all the buildings down the mountainside. This makes for a very interesting and stimulating compo.
