Hi Peeps,

This will be my only post for the week. I am taking one week off with Kulimpapat as we are resting due to our job commitments that needs urgent attention and to rest a bit after my back injury..hehehe...but i will be still around to visit your galleries...hehehe..

This is a picture of our traditional wood cutter, where wood in the old days are used for fuel and cooking..In the modern era, we have gas for fuel and for cooking now thus this is a dying trade. Usually one pile of wood is sold between $5-$10 Brunei Dollars and mainly nowdays use for vendors who sell barbequed food in our night market..

Enjoy a glimpse of our Bruneian heritage peeps..

Thanks for visiting my gallery...

Cheers
AJ786
:-)

ps: To Mr. Anan..you know what you need to do now that me and Kulimpapat are taking a break :-)

Hi Amri, nice shot color details and momment, TFS is not easy for me capture the people. TFS

Great colour and focus. Fascinating subject. The background is a bit cluttered and is distracting. A trick to deal with that is to take the blur tool and blur it even more; and another is to use the burn tool to darken it, very carefully and selectively. Then your foreground subject pops out into view even more.

Assalamualaikum Bro,

wow! it's not the wood-cutting action that i like....it's the cigarette that attracts me more....so candid! great dof & pov of an action shot. Congratulation!

Hello AJ,

Very good capture of this man at work. The details and colors are simply brilliant. The clarity and details are flawless. The expression on the face with fags in his mouth is so original. Good job and very well done.

Hi, Mi.
Gambar menarik yang mendokumentasikan kehidupan seharian. Saya tertarik dengan details pada raut wajah subjek. Siap dengan 'sambung nyawa' lagi. Note juga menarik dan berinformasi.

Dear Mohd Rozaimi Hj Abd Rahman,
an interesting scene of the cutting wood, he seems to cut it from sideways, in Japan it is done by lengthwise.
the firewood heater is luxurious and expensive here, but the oil becomes more and more high price...we may back to the firewood heater in the future.
and the effect of lighting in this pic is nice for express the characteristic of his work.
thank you,
Akihisa

we still do these in the our town Mohd, besides food cooked from woods are more distinctively delicious than cooked from gas(you agree with that?), very good capture of daily life, the sharpness is superb, good tone colors and DOF.thumbs up my friend.

hi bro AJ,

foods cooked by this kayu api more delicious than using the gas cooker :) too bad its like that also here.. cuma now when there are big party (keramaian in the village), or kenduri like that baru guna kayu api ne..

masih ingat mcm na nak gunakannya.

nice shot of the orang tua yg telah menghiasi tl ne yg ke 3 kalo tak silap. happy resting..

Hello Mohd.
Good looking picture you took from the 'handyman'.
Did you told him, smoking can be dangerous for others too ?
When he set the things on fire there, it wil smoke like hell, right ? haha
Nice a fine time off, Mohd. Dont forget your camera.

your picture clearly demo the hardness of this work, an old man still doing such job means its really a dying trade. excellent lighting and great details of that wood cutter

Hello Mohd :o)

Very interesting shot for the history of this job. Excellent sharpness and colours, light is splendid. It should be a hard job ... even if this man seems to be cool :o) TFS my dear friend and take care !!!

Hi Mohd. I like this for what it conveys, the dying art, but also the colours and skin tones have come out better than many portaits. The backdrop does not intrude. Good result. TFS. Murray.
PS Hope back better soon it is a real pain having that.

It is an excellent portrait as well as a good capture of daily life. The lighting and composition are excellent

TFS

This is trully a fine portrait. Love the tones in the skin of that man and in the wood. Beautiful tones. A story teller, nicely done.

Fantastic post! The lighting is what makes this photo so good in my opinion- along with the concentration on the man's face. It is a great contribution to this site. I know very little about Brunei but your gallery is helping me to learn more.
Thanks,
Sarah

Excellent portrait of the Great man.
