went to fish carnival here in my place..i do know today all the fish have some scientific names for them..this type of crab in brunei we called it 'katam kalok'..dont know why they name it like that, 'katam' means crab and 'kalok' means lucky, i dont see this crab was so lucky ;)..enjoy the pic..crop the pic then unsharped it and resize..basic pp work for me..

Not a bad capture here Dimi, I do find it a little hard to make out some of the details though - I think the DOF is a little too shallow maybe. If you went for f/4 and 1/1000 or slower, I thnk there would be better sharpness and more detail?
Just a theory, since I haven't even attempted a shot like this!
Colours are very natural, placement in the frame is good.

ps: haha makan katam ah kemarin, hehehe abg pun makan katam, katam suri hehehe

Hello Dimi

I am also half lost like you in scientific names of these crabs and others derived of the sea.
But I see that you have a beautiful macro of him, mainly of their eyes and mouth.
Usually they hide them with their tweezers.
Beautiful shot and good compo!
Congratulations

Hello Dimi,

Detailed shot at the head with beautiful clear eyes and mouth. Maybe this one is lucky to be in your post :-)

Good POV. I like the DOF. Excellent portrait of your little creature.
Wonderful details. Well done!!

Lopa

hey, he looks like my neighbour

Frighteningly good close-up of this horrid (in my opinion) creature.
You did a fine job allowing us to study how their face really looks like.
Great framing as well!

Hi Dimi! How are you? This is a really cute shot :P very detailed and clear. looks great.

Alexandra

Hello Dimi

An excellent capture here, unusual and effective shot, yes the DOF is a touch shallow but I actually like the effect as the sooft focus behind makes the eyes seem all the sharper.

Nice work
