interesting OE BG, if she were looking at you in the same pose, it would be so great !
a square format can be done, droping out the left, even if it adds to the perspective, an off centered framed can have more impact, the BG can still be interesting... see WS, just my opinion

PS: as you don't tell the meaning of the t-shirt, for others who will read this, it's written "anti-sarko" (against Sarkozy), the actual president of France was in politic campain, and comed to Africa to speak about the immigration in France from Africa, and it's one of the reason why he won the election, grabing the Front National's ideas(extremist party with a large part of racists)

No wonder you like this shot, she's beautiful and there's something demure-but-defiant about the pose.

Technically there is a lot that could be improved here though. For a start - it's no wonder she's overexposed! You're shooting into the sun, more or less, metering for dark skin against a white t-shirt with the glare of a dusty road; almost an impossible task. Going high-key was the only option, which is what you've done here.

The composition isn't too good; you've placed her right in the centre of the frame, which isn't the best place for a subject. Check out this page with articles on composition and see what I mean. I think Jo's workshop illustrates the point well, too.

You've also cropped off her hand at the wrist. Basically, it's generally agreed that it's not a good point to crop somebody's arm, it always looks messy and incomplete. Better to either include the whole hand, or crop further up the arm to avoid it looking like an 'accidental' crop.

Despite all these things, it's an appealing photo. Keep shooting!

Jolie photo, le passage vers un noir & blanc sépia est une bonne idée selon moi. Mon seul regret avec cette photo est le personnage terriblement centré
