There is a bit of parkland near the heart of Melbourne under the Westgate Bridge. It used to be an old salt mine, and then a rubbish dump. In the 80s, it was restored as parkland, although I don't think many people visit the park.
The lake is a salt lake and really not very appealing. This old fallen sign sort of sums it all up.
