Tauira means pattern in Māori.
This photo was taken in a Marae, and this tauira was on the wall above where I was sleeping.
Permission was given for photos as long as they are not used to be sold.
I found the colours and work involved in these wall panels inspiring. |

stunning shot of the details of this decoration in a Whare Nui on a Marae (I'm guessing there!). The patterning is wonderful... mmm, would be a great maths lesson (yeah, sorry, I'm a teacher!).
