The tapper is seen here, collecting the juice from the palm tree ("toddy") from the pots left there since some hours ; he'll climb down the tree with the smallest pot, that he holds in his right hand (NB : this is part of another series of 9 photos, starting with a TE photo).

The real portrayal of TODDY TAPPING..
Great in taste too :) TRIED THAT ?
I once had that , many years back, in my friends house at KOTTAYAM... In mayalalam, this is called PANAM KALLU .
The tree is called PANA.
Toddy is KALLU.
One of the many jobs here in KERALA too.... especially in the TRAVANCORE region... and in MALABAR regions..
