Landry's in Branson
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
I managed to get out of the house Monday a week ago and rode with a friend to Branson. Getting out is a rare event for me. We didn't eat here due to winter hours, but I wanted to get a picture of the place since I had one of the Landry's Seafood House in Englewood, CO. My friend was kind enough to drive me there.
Something different: I recently changed how I put the ProximityCast.com and date on the pictures I've uploaded. I put a little flag waving action on the URL and placed the date under the curve on the right. I think I like this way. It will possibly provide a standard place to look for a date. I find dates are important since places come and go for many reasons. In the workshop is a little Mexican restaurant that was a favorite of many locals that is no longer standing due to a tornado. Any comments, critiques, suggestions?
I'm thinking about starting a monthly ProximityCast theme where I'd like to see how others would handle coordinate placement etc. I think I'd start it with notable restaurants, then each month change to another category, e.g. Gas Stations and prices from around the world etc. If you'd like to participate let me know, since if there is no interest there is no use in pursuing the idea.
I've made a Blog Entry detailing how to get coordinates off of Google Maps for a location which is handy for those without a GPS. This could also be helpful to those who would like to add Location Latitude and Longitude to their regular Trek site submissions but don't have a GPS. This allows the map view to be available on the left under photo information.
Anyhow, my handle is ProximityCast even if my concept is a little outside the box I'd appreciate any thoughts or otherwise anyone would like to share about it good, bad, or indifferent.
Kind Regards,
David |

Like you said-- a lot outside of the box.
The initial capture is very good -- fine PoV (always better to shoot buildings form an angle rather than head-on). An even better PoV (unless it's really ugly) is to shoot so that the entrance is in view. Here the entrance to the building is almost lost.
I like the flag-shaped label on the bottom, but I would really like to see the coordinates a bit smaller, at least for TrekLens. In fact, why not have two version of your pictures -- one that you use for your site -- with large coordinates and the other for here with either no coordinates ore very much smaller ones.
Just a thought
TFS
