[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken last week when we had a cold snap, the previous days had been very warm, then this. It shows the lakes that are just a two minutes walk from where I live. They (the lakes) are old sand workings that are now exhausted and filled naturally with water. The area is now a wildlife sanctuary.

Very little work done here except a small curves adjustment and High Pass filter 4% / vivid light at 60% opacity

thanks for sharing

Michael I like this one a lot, exceptional composition.

Great foreground interest leading into the shot with a beautiful blue sky. The frost really enhances the shot which you have captured really well.

Hello, Michael,

A lovely shot! The colours are superb, especially the greens in those trees and the long grass in the foreground. (I get the general impression that Nikons are very good at greens and that their colours in general are a bit more faithful than Canons which tend to give a slightly false warmish tone.)

A very nice picture indeed with great sharpness and detail.

Excellent!

Best Wishes,

John.

Hi dear friend,
beautiful place with nice colors,
but why frozen? Doesn't look frozen to me.
Nice angle of shot and framing.
Have a lovely WE.
Ioana

Hi Michael,
The skim ice adds lovely textures to the turquoise blue waters of this calm river. The frost encrusted trees and brush make a stunning contrasts to the lovely river as they lightly reflect in the ice.
Regards, Tom

Thank for your honest critique on my "TWO PILOTS" picture...;]

An excellent photo of a beautiful place. What I like most, is the sky reflections on the water. That blue is so pretty. TFS

Hi Michael, we did not have the cold snaps, we only shared the storm with England.

Frozen looks great when it is brighten up by lovely warm sunlight.

One can certainly feel the crispness in the air and the hardness of the ground underfoot. The blue sky compliments the golden vegetation perfectly. POV and composition is spot-on.
