Red-Billed Gull
Tarapunga (Maori)

This red-billed seagull is the most common of NZ’s seagulls and always seen. It is a grey/white bird with bright red bill, legs and feet. Adult red-billed gulls have red beaks and red legs. Young red-billed gulls have a brown beak and legs. This one is juvenile as it has a brown/red beak and feet

Gulls can most often be seen at the beach, where they eat small marine creatures (hoppers, crabs and shellfish), but they also spend time at the dump – because they are good at scavenging food scraps that people throw away. They are always on the search for food from anywhere they can find it.

Gulls live in flocks, so they have to get along with each other. Gulls squabble but they don’t really hurt each other, and they warn each other about danger.

Gulls are true all-rounders, Janice... I love 'm for that... they can survive about anywhere, I think. And they can fly like fighter planes. They're true acrobats of the sky.
Your shot, on the other hand, lacks some sharpness. Which is a pity, as your composition and the colours are excellent. TFS.

Good shot I like the DOF and the focus.
