| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
I've already posted a shot of this intriguing building on TrekEarth (last week), and another one there today. This is a close-up of a small section of the brightly-colored panes of glass that cover the side of the building which faces Rue Jeanne-Mance. Reflected in the glass is another building, and I've been trying to figure out which building it is, but I've been back in Houston for over a week now, and I'm working from tourist maps (maybe the Complex Guy-Favreau?).
When the exterior light hits these panes of glass, it throws beams of colored light across the interior spaces. Remarkeable to see. Check out the links above for examples.
The upper right hand corner of this image is a piece of the sky. It was a bit washed out in the original, so I masked it off and deepened the colors with Photoshop's Levels tool, then I Inverted the mask (so I could work with the rest of the image), and used levels on it to enrich them a little also. Separating the two parts of the image allowed me to have distinct control over each. Finally, I sharpened and resized the image before uploading it. |
