[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Sabah, also known as Land below the wind, sits on the northern part of Borneo.

This is early morning view of Mabul island, off the coast near to Semporna town. From Semporna, boat rides of up to 1.5 hour will bring you to several islands here world-famous for its diving sites, such as Sipadan, Mabul and Kapalai islands.

It is a wonderful place to watch the coral reefs, sunrise, sunset and local people who rely on boats and the sea for a living. It takes a normal stroll of 1 hour to walk around Mabul island.

I am glad to stay a night here to watch the beautiful sunset and sunrise and feel the night breeze. I will highly recommend 2 nights stay to truly enjoy the heaven. All around the island, for miles radius, you can see blue and green waters and beneath them, corals and sea weeds, with fishing swimming around.

Many stories have been told about Sipadan dives. A trip to the islands here will ensure unforgetable memories for a lifetime, and a visit is worth every dollar spent. I am amazed that we have such beautiful places in Malaysia. First class of world standard.

Anyone seeing this photo, please don't believe what I write, you must fly and get there yourself. If you disagree with my recommendation, money back guarantee that you will call it a lifetime experience.

Amazing place and incredible beauty. Truly must be seen in person to be believed. It will take a book to tell about this place and its people. But let this photo tells you what it looks like from just a corner of the island. Thank you for viewing. (more photos to come)

Regards, Bill

In 1982 just touched the wheels of plane the ground at Kota Kenabalou air strip and we were not allowed to get DOWN as I was travelling from Hong Kong to Singapore, there I read about the Sabah Island, well captured as it reminds me..

Hi Bill

A marvellous tropical beachscape with the classic & oblidatory coconut palms. Good sharpness & contrast. Tfs!

Looks like an idyllic place Bill, and beautifully captured here! I love the composition, the use of negative space to emphasise the trees, the beach, the jetty ...

If I had a criticism it would be the blue object at the very bottom-right ...? I don't know if it needs to be there?

But a beautiful, uncluttered, relaxing shot!

Hi Bill,

welcome back!
so this must be among your great collections from your trekking in Sabah. very fruitful!

very panoramic and uniquely vertical. i can imagine how more beautiful in landscape with a wider/broader view. but i believe you must have a reason for this.

a great composition, very brilliantly captured, a manifestation of your love to its natural & pristine beauty. very wel done, pal!

Nicely composed and executed Bill. Fine detail, good colours and light and well framed. I may have considered removing that patch of blue in teh corner? TFS,
David

Many thanks for your comment on ‘In the Forest’...I have since added a coloured version in the workshop

Bonjour Bill
De belles couleurs naturelles pour cette composition verticale très agréable.
Bravo et bonne journée.

Hello Bill. The first subject that caught my attention here is those coconut tress. The reason for the attraction is the color and texture of the leaves. I can see very natural color and vivid sharpness of the texture which is brilliant. Very well presented in vertical format with the pier cutting across making this a pleasant perspective. Very well done and best regards. Jusni

p/s: I'm tweaking with my D80 to get this vividness in the image - still experimenting.

Hi, Bill!

Wonderful landscape, with beautiful colours and lights. Excellent work!

Kind regards,
jazmin
