This is a very interesting species of fly, common to the southeast of Brazil. It shines with a vibrant metallic green under bright sunlight.
I could say that catching this pretty bug on the fly was all due to my outstanding quick reaction and perfect shutter timing.....but it is not true! Actually, this kind of fly tends to keep hovering over one place, like a helicopter, maybe looking for a victim to lay its eggs on*. That makes it much easier to capture these little fellows in a photo.
*read the excellent comment posted by our fellow W.Briques for the accurate explanation for this hovering behavior! |

Uma boa captura, bem apresentada, Fábio.
Parabéns, um abraço!

Fabio,
Tudo a volta do sexo :)
Wellington
