[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This weeks theme made me think, a meal with friends provided the answer, the flames from a glass of Sambuca.

Sambuca should be served in a liquer glass with three roasted beans floating on top (you can just see these on the left). It is then set ablaze to provide the ideal conclusion to dinner in the true flamboyant Italian style.

Legend has it that the three coffee beans are a symbol of romance.

Beautiful colours in the flames and you have captured them well! Very well composed and a nice strong black background for contrast. Nice frame also. Well done!

Hi Derek,

A great combination of orange/yellow and its complimentary colour, blue. The black background is wonderful and shows the flame off to its best. Very simple, very clear - an extremely good shot. Regards, Paul.

Great origional shot, I have had flaming Sambuca a number of times but would never have thought to photograph it, good colours and sharpness witha good DOF.

This is a beautiful shot of the sambuca. The shape of the flame itself is interesting, the round glass, and the subtle coffee beans. This would look great on a poster advertising Sambuca don't you think?
