[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Monarch Butterflies migrate from Indiana to southern Mexico every fall. The migration path is often though my backyard offering lots of photo ops.

I did not crop this picture. Like most macro pictures taken with this camera, I had to use the LCD to properly frame this picture.

I am not happy with how dark this picture is and am not sure how much more brightness or contrast should be added.

Hi David,
Nice shot. You got it at a good time as the butterfly is in the middle of tasting the flower. The composition is okay, but, I think maybe it would've been more effective if the camera was held in vertical orientation, in my opinion. For me, I think the exposure looks fine. If you wanted to, you could add just a tiny bit of brightness and contrast...not much. Oh, I'm so glad you're shooting full frame! It shows that you have thought about your image and how you visualize the final product. Big shout out to that! ;) Good job!
And welcome to TL!
Richard

I love cone flowers! They draw wonderful insects and later yellow finches.
The photo in my opinion would be better if the cone flower in back was blurred or removed. The exposure is ok.
