I took a trip with my family up to a location on the outskirts of Melbourne called the William Ricketts Sanctuary. It is located amongst the Mount Dandenong Ranges.
William Ricketts was an artist whose work included nearly 100 mystical clay scupltures of Aboriginal figures hidden away among rocks, ferns and towering Mountain Ash trees.
The setting is beautiful and very tranquil (when our 2yo boy wasn't making noise and running around).
Great day for shooting (photos) in the forest - overcast, filtered light.

I agree there are some wonderful sculptures there. Your B+W image has done justice to this one...nice shot.
Hello, Phillip -
Wonderful image. The was indeed good that day, and the highlights and shadows really bring out the fine details of this sculpture. Good choice of B&W. Well done.
