| there has been a stronghold here since Ad 447 OCCUPIED by IDA then his son Ethelfirth who suceeded him in 1202 king John stayed here twice 1221 hendry the 8th visited1610 James the ist gave the castle to Cladius Forster who allowed it to fall into ruin .1704 Lord Crewe Bishop of Durham left a large sum of money for the upkeep andand restoration of the buildings and in 1894 the Castle was purschased by the first lord Armstrong whose Decsendents still stay in the castle today you no the family is there when the standard flies above as in the this shot |

I love that the castle looks as though it's floating there with the fog/cloud in the background. Although I think I might prefer to crop out the brown grass in the foreground.

Its a good composition even with the distracting grass. It does need sharpening something you should get into the habit of doing whenever you resize or alter a photo.By doing so it would also help brighten it up a bit.
