Another image from Punchbowl Reserve which I have shown before here, not only an attractive location but the place where Sandy and I were married in 2004.

If anyone is wondering about the white bands around the saplings they are strips of tin wrapped around the trunks to prevent the possums from eating the new growth.

Punchbowl is a south eastern suburb of Launceston, a popular tourist attraction with the Punch Bowl Reserve. The reserve has exotic and native trees and rhododendrons set in semi-natural bushland. It was opened up in the early 1900s and called Devils Punch Bowl.

Hi David,
Great one again, a place to be. Excellent colours and a fine composition. Grlad to see it isn't a golf course yet :-)

Hi David, it is nice to see the imported exotic trees growing among the gums, giving an added bit of colour, especially in autumn.
You have trouble with possums, and we have the same trouble with opossums - imported from Australia many years ago.
It's an attractive scene,
Janice

Beautiful capture.
Excellent sharpness, colors and details.
Even with a ration of 21, this came out very sharp.
Excellent

Hi David

Now this looks like a great place to take a long walk, breath in plenty of invigorating fresh air, and enjot the sights and sounds of all that wonderful wildlife around you.

Autumn brings with it the most amazing and rewarding colours.

Great PP work. Regards and TFS,

Martyn

What a lovely place to have gotten married, my friend of many faces. I love how the land is gently sloping and the use of light on the trees and ground. The whole image invites us in to relax and enjoy the beauty. Great detail. We band the young trees here as well, to protect against rabbits and other ground animals. As always a pleasant beautifully presented image.
Warm Regards
Wanda

Lovely idyllic scene David, good natural colours, which is always nice to see, not over saturated.
Nice places to walk around.

Thanks
Gil

What a lovely scene David and certainly one that must hold fond memories for you and Sandy.

I like your POV and the lovely play of sunlight and shadows under the trees. The narrow frame rounds off the photo very nicely too.. TFS

Such a beautiful place!!! All of the trees are so lovely as are the colors. TFS

Hello David,
I commented on an image with the same title (?) two years ago, so I understand you still have autumn in April, hehehe!
Maybe the typical colours back then were stronger, but the place is for sure inviting and very well kept in order...
A lovely landscape, sharp fine details and good colours!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi David

Beautiful place, he has a little of similar
with the park in São Paulo - Ibirapuera -.
Plenty green and a variety of beautiful trees.
Beautiful captures.
Excellent sharpness, colors and details.
Greetings!

Sérgio

Ahh fall rolling around again eh David? We are heating up here, mosquito time! Also humidity that keeps the skin moist! UGH!.... Really nice colors...very interesting information. Back here in the states, in the early 1900's folks PAINTED trees white, from the truck up about 4 feet to keep bugs out...so rare to see it today!

Why do I find the word 'possums' so funny, David! Probably because it s a catchword for Dame Edna!

Lovely scenery, bursting with colour and charm! The l/h tree make a good frame for the rest of the shot. I particularly like the long, low shadows which dapple the grass and reveal its undulations.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)
Many thanks for your kind comments on the fruit stall in Skipton!

p.s. It's very difficult to keep up with the people who keep usurping your spot on your intro. Who are all these strange people?

Looks like a nice place. Blue sky and soft colors look nice.

Cheers,
Pedro

Hello David
What strykes my attention first is the overall soft contrast for a better view of details in shaded areas. Then, the impressive depth created by trees located at many planes.
Quite inviting for a strool.
G'day to you and to Sandy!

Hello David,
A very pleasant image. It looks so peaceful... It must be a great place to visit. Colours, details and sharpness are perfect. Excellent DOF and focus. The whole composition is superb, congratulations!
