[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a picture of a Western Lowland Gorilla. This gorilla resides in Columbus, Ohio however this species resides in West Africa (Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, SW Central African Republic). The diet for this Gorilla consist of fruit, leaves, stems, bark and insects, I acquired this information on Wikipedia.

For this shot I used a 70-300mm lens with a focal length of 195mm. Since the Gorilla was behind a green tinited glass I had to do a little pp work. I decreased the exposure slightly and added a more yellow tint to offset the green color from the glass. I increased the contrast and enhansed the color slightly. I then cropped and resized for TL. I hope you like this shot and thanks for viewing.

Hi Kevin,
You have captued all the wounderfully detailed features of this handsome face. Very intelligent eyes and a intersting thumb sucking pose.
Regards, Tom

Hi Kevin,

Somehow he is saying . . "What do you want?" . . I don't have a chance to see directly this size of gorilla . . There are lots of orangutan in Indonesia, but as not this big . .
Excellent moment you capture it . .
Great shot my friend

Hello Kevin. Nice sharp image of this fine species. Well captured in nice lighting and sharpness. Best regards. Jusni

Hello Kevin, you have done a fine job in pp,I do not get the impression of looking through glass at all.
I like his expression.Everything is sharp and clear.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hi Kevin,

The image turned out very nice. It has a nice composition, good sharpness and the color of the gorilla has turned out good.

Some remarks. The light on the fingers have now made that part overexposed. By keeping a look on the histogram while shooting you could have taken another shot with a lower exposure to prevent the blown out bits. By decreasing exposure in PP the blown out bits stay blown out.

TFS,
Pedro

Hi Kevin
The intense look is almost scary.
You did a great shooting job and again with the pp work as he does not look like he is behind glass.
Dot

It's funny how these guy's appear to give human gestures sometimes. Maybe Darwin was right. I like this one. TFS!

Hello Kevein
Here we are again .. and what do I see? A Dutch horror :-)
I explain below..
Well the details are fine .. razor sharp and it always is amazing how 'connected ' we feel when looking at them (well ..I do.. ) smile

We had a gay like this one breaking loose in Rotterdam zoo last year.. ''Bokito''and attacked a woman
if you like to know more .. see this :

Hello Kevin:)
You were lucky to have opportunity to capture gorilla outside in ZOO - I was doing some pictures last year in our Toronto's ZOO but gorillas are constantly in pavilion, glass and bad light there.
This portrait you did very well, even through the glass with some PP work it went so good, I really like it, it is so impressive - great photo!
Best regards - Tom
