[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This would be the first flower I've seen growing outdoors this year, a late spring indeed. It is a prairie crocus, also known as pasque flower (anemone patens) photographed in Calgary's largest park, the Nose Hill Park. There are still a few patches of snow in shady areas and one can notice in the image that gras just started to grow, but this doesn't mean that the summer will arrive later than in other places: The temperatures rise very quickly here, and by the beginning of June a full-blown summer will replace the few weeks of spring.

Beautiful spring spot in the kingdom of winter:) Looks like Your Spring is even later than ours:) We had flowers a month ago already but now it's again very cold. About 11 today. Too cold for a May here. Hope it's gonna change soon.
