Photo of a homeless man sleeping across the street from Toronto’s Stock Exchange in the heart of Canada’s financial district Bay Street

I used two layers to create the affects of color and black and white

Perfect view Joe!
Realy strong scene with homeless man in the front of rich building.

I just have a question/sugestion.
Partial desaturation is good choice, but in my opinion, you are leave to much objects in color.
So I dont know what is main atention in this shot?
Homeles or entrance?
Both is strange choice, IMHO.
Maybe is better leave just sleeping man in color, and all other transmute in B/W?
Honestly, I dont understund point of colored stairways.
Maybe you try to make some poetic mood, like giving atention on forbiden entrance for homeles man, and if you think on this way, this is perfect thinking, but in realisation maybe you can make stronger impact if you leave just one object in color version.
On the homeles ofcourse.
His position on the front of house tell's enough.

After all, this is just my opinion, truth is that you made perfect picture Joe, and my long qritique is just because your photo make's me think about it.
Congratulations.

Excellent view of a violent contrast of life in all the industrial society. I suppose.... ? Anyway... I consider it as a photo report. It don't neet text to be understoud!
And you treat it, in a special way i like...

Great composition and use of layers, the colour accents greatly enhance the image. I want to learn photography and this is the kind of photo that will accelerate that process. Thanks for sharing.

Why don't the icons appear so that I can rate this photo?

Good vision of the capitalist society, giving the backs
to the least fortunate ones. In fact this is present
in every rest of the world.
great picture, I liked of like you it colored
only the stairways and the poor.

Hi Joe,
I was browsing trough your photo’s again. And of course depending on the mood you in you find new fantastic photo’s. Today the winner is rich and poor. In your photo rich wins. Big house clean street. But the big winner is how you catch the contrast in this photo.

very stroung composition and message in the photo Joe
i love the b/w + color combo

how ironic life is so much money moved in there and this poor man has to sleep on th efloor in the street

Hi Joe,

that's a sad photo. but real. Well done with colors.

regards , pawel

Hi Joe. Powerful image, excelent use of B+W and colour combination. I would have left the sleeping man in B+W to emphasise how far he is socialy removed from the building entrance. Great shot. Thanks for sharing.

Regards Phil.

True and sad. This should not happen in this country of ours.. specially in our beautiful city of Toronto. Nice work pal.
