On monday evening I caught up briefly with May again, just before she headed back to Thailand the following morning.

We went back to the Clarke Quay area and to my favourite subway :-)

Didn;t have a lot of time, so the shots were a bit rushed. For this one I has asked her to walk to the far end and walk back towards me. halfway down she stopped and hammed around a bit - this was one of those shots - her idea, not mine. I kinda like the result.

Shot in RAW, played about with balances, brightness, contrast, cropped, jpegged, resized and sharpened.

ISO 320, f2.8, 1/125

A lovely simple shot, very effective in B+W. I particularly like your shots of May where you shoot her side-on as she looks towards the camera.
Nice work.

ciao Richard..
a wonderful image.. full of something special.. maybe is it for the girl?!? yes.. sure.. she increases the scene with her beauty and her pose so cool!! however it's not only for the girl.. atmosfere and compo is really great!! many thanks
ciao Marco

Hi Richard,

It's a combination of model and street photography . .
Natural pose . . beauty in subway . .
I can notice how clean is this subway . . Very Singapore . .

Tfs,
Tjutjut

Hi Richard,

the contrast between the subject and the surrounding makes her stand out; looks like a 3-D & alive! a very smart & well-calculated capture, i must say.

btw, i think the brick wall qualifies this image for this week's Helen's Friday theme....:)

TFS & have a great weekend, pal.
Regards
Agoes

Nice. Good composition and great use of available light - you shot at just the right point, with an overhead light to catch her hair and shoulder, just enough light to illuminate her face.

Good job here!

Bonjour Richard
Pose amusante et composition originale. Le noir et le blanc des vêtements se détachent bien sur un fond très gris, et le sourire de la feune femme fait le reste....
Amicalement

Sylvain

This works well, whoever had the idea! The lines of the tiles lead the eye in nicely and her pose is perfect. I like the way she's wearing black and white too.
Cheers, John.

Hi Richard,
Lovely catwalk pose and wonderfully captured. Good lighting and overall contrast. I like the overall tonal range and contrast. Well done! tfs

A really cute pose and I like her confidence. She always appears very relaxed it front of the camera. I also like the 'subway', a great background for this portrait. Very nice in b&w.

Her idea or yours, Richard, it is your usual impressive and professional photo. I love the Black and white and your use of lines.

Hi Richard, Very fine angle of a fine-looking gal. Your series of her have been excellent. Hope you find some more willing models soon. TFS. Murray.

Dang it!! I used to have legs like that!! NO FAIR!! Wow, what an eye catcher Richard! But what I like the MOST is the light, that falls right at her feet, bringing your eyes to the heels and right up..... her legs reach ALL the way to the ground! AMAZING! OH for the days when my legs looked like that!...ARRRGG! It's hell getting older...B-(
But I love the pic! BW is best here!
B-) B-)

HI Richard
The lines of the walls and floor gives this shot a lot of atmosphere. Very good composition, and May as pretty as she is really enhances it. The light on head and shoulder giving it a touch of professionalism.

Pretty damn good for a quick "point and shoot" and not bad post work either. :)
Others have said it but, yes, the position of the light, and your capturing of same, added to the moment May gave to you to capture, really makes this a stunner.
There's just nothing like available light, for me anyway, and the even tones it yields and your use of B&W here totally fits the mood.
Nicely done,
TFS,
Wilt

I like this pic, simple and nice

Hi Rich,
Encountered this image of May while strolling through your portfolio. Well you catcher her here, the pose is striking, but I do see some haze in the picture, maybe caused by the wide open apperture (f/2.8) the picture is missing the real sharpness in my opinion although the DOF with the blurry background isn't annoying at all to me. In short; a photo with a lot of potential, but is missing contrast and sharpness. Just my opinion my friend.
Hans

Hi Richard,l
An interesting picture, I like B&W tones and specially pose of the nice young girl, a bit provocative, with fresh energy.

Hernán
