this was the first photograph of my choice in this camera.

Hi Vikram
First off a belated welcome to TL.
I like the potential in this image - the lighting is well done. maybe a bit more shutter speed to sharpen the image and move the camera to your right to include a bit more of the side of his face that is in the light and less that is the dark.

I really like the light, it is true that some sharpness would have showed more of the expression but nevertheless it is a beautiful portrait!
