Night view of Saints Peter and Paul Church in North Beach, San Francisco. This is one of my favorite areas of the city to walk around in at night. Not ony because It reminds me of home (NYC) but I also love the architecture, steep hills and ominous alleys are fun to explore with a camera and tripod.

I tried a few different viewpoints but I liked this one best because it showed more of the surrounding homes. It was extremely difficult to get a shot without any traffic in the street, so I tried to work that in the best I could.

Saints Peter and Paul Church is a Roman Catholic Church in San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood. Located (somewhat ironically) at 666 Filbert Street, it is directly across from Washington Square, San Francisco and is administered by the Salesians of Don Bosco. This building is very unusual in that the parish school is situated atop the church itself and is accessible from stairways under each of its twin towers.

Hi Vincent

Good graphism, of the well illuminated facade, of the Disneyesque Church, against the dark sky. Superb sharpness, & a good time exposure, with excellent contrast & lighting. Tfs!

hi vincent, neat place, your colors and details are nice, you know a long enough shutter speed and traffic trails dissapear revealing in this shot the sidewalk, nice post though,
tfs,
scott

Wooow Vincent,
Fantastic light and details and a great compo.
Very beautiful capture full of charme and with wonderful colours and sharpness.
Congrats for an excelent work, jmb

Good sense of height and great light effects, with the pleasant glow from inside the steeple areas and also the street level starbursts. Clear and noiseless:) Well done!

Really well done night time image, You really nailed the lighting while avoiding the blacker than black and burned out whites that are so easy to get from night shots--I can get those two things without even trying anymore LOL--and that, as well and the upward perspective and the POV itself make this one great capture.
Very nicely done!

Wilt

Great cut of this nocturnal taken. Good sharpening. Amazing colours and flashes on church.

Hello Vincent
Thank you for you kind word concerning my last post.
This night exposure is absolutely great and neat. The pitch black sky makes the best background for the brightly lighted church and surrounjding buildings. I think I'll start to make night photos too; it looks interesting.
Great post.
Serge

Hi Vincent ...great light and sharpness of details..excellent night shot.

Hi Vincent,

Wonderful how you managed to light out that building!
I like this point of view as well, with the city skyline in the distance. A good choice!

Hi Vincent !
Dude, this is cool :-)
Very sharp and well managed exposure.
It's a nice effort. My only complaint will of course be the verticals - though I guess it can be easily corrected with software.

Best regards, Daniel

WOW! I mean...WOW!!! :))) GREAT posting, Vincent! Amazing dof and sharpness! I've been staring at it for quite some time...and I can't help it: is that golden diagonal line at the bottom, a car that passed by? Is it the pp work trying to cover the cars parked? I really can't tell...Congrats! You fooled me! :)
I really mean it Vincent, amazing, work!
Best regards,
Diana
