[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
While hiking in the rain yesterday, I found this spot.
It is Cascade Mountain reflected in Johnson's Lake in Banff National Park. The same mountain as the previous post.

Hiking in the rain is usually better than not hiking at all.

I am becoming more comfortable using a Neutral Density Filter and Polarizer with my Cokin Filter holder. Now I just need to figure out how to carry the gear comfortably and have easy access.

Stunning reflections, even if the fallen logs are in the way. The water is like a silver mirror. And the dark trees give a moody look to the whole scene,

Hi Karen,
How I would like to be there! What a great landscape with the mountains reflected on the lake. Am I right if I expect you shoot against the light? Never easy to have good result in this case. You managed so well these hard conditions! Beautifully done! Annie

hi karin, beautiful shot, excellent details and composition, exposure is perfect too, i generally hand hold my n/grad filters, bracket the exposures both ways and take lots of pics, i get too lazy for the filter holder with lens changes ect. and sometimes vignetting can occur from the holder also, just have to watch your fingers they dont sneek in the frame!
you used the filters very well in this image, i don't know how people shoot too many landscapes without the neutral grad filter???
tfs,
scott

Hi Karin
Splendid image with a soft look and feeling.. The reflections are so
pure. Love the composition with the grass and the logs. Well seen.

Paul

Hi Karin,

This one takes some time to fully get! :-) The reflections are very nice and I do like the patterns of the pieces of tree in the water. The depth is very nice and the ND Grad surely did its work here :-).
Thanks for sharing!

Greetings, Dennis

Hello Karin
That's a wonderful point of view and you peformed a very good composition blending all the different elements that make that photo. I love the dry grass in the foreground and the reflexion of the mountain. I percieve some purple color in the upper left corner of the sky. Is that the effect of one of your filters?

Hello Karen,

I don't know what other word to describe what I see here, it so wonderful... so amazing... a view that take your breath away, very nice composition and reflection, :D The lake is like a mirror!

Have a nice day,

Cheers,
Sweety

This one is even better because there is more luminosity on the overall picture and I like the clouds.
And the fg of this one might even be better :)

Take care. Yan
