Foggy Morning in Raglan

This is another of the photos I took at Raglan last month when I woke up to a foggy day.

This is on the harbour inlet where our motel was situated.

The township of Raglan is on the Whaingaroa Harbour (also known as Raglan Harbour) on the west coast of New Zealand's North Island.

The harbour runs 12km inland from the entrance, for the most part is less than 2km wide, and is the northernmost of three large inlets in the Waikato coast.

Raglan was named after Fitzroy Somerset, 1st Lord Raglan, who was the commander of British forces in the Crimean War at the time the township was settled in 1855.

The fog enhances the mysterious mood & atmosphere. Good diffused light, & superb sharpness. I like the minimalist colour. Tfs!

Hello Janice,

I like the perspective and the subtle merging of the foreground, middle and background which gives depth to the photo. The fog and snow simply the subjects and bring out the outlines as seen on the coniferous trees in the background. This is the kind of weather I have seen many times in our state of Washington. Treklens and Photography has improved my knowledge of the world around us.Good posting.

Hi Janice
I love how the dark colours show through the monochrome fog.
Well composed with good sharpness it gives this photo a somewhat moody look.

Hi Janice,
I don't want to see bad weather foto's of New Zealand, OK? In NZ the sky is always clear, nicely blue with fine fluffy clouds. Well anyway a fine misty impression. Pictureslike these always creates a bit melancholistic mood and this one is no exception! :-) Great posting my dear .

Hi Janice
This foggy morning creates a dreamlike atmosphere but very sharp and clear in the foreground. A special combination of the two

Ah, tis the season for Fogs Janice.
The fog has turned a quite ordinary scene (I don't like low tides) into something quite special.
Well seen,
Pete.

Hi Janice,

Wonderful shot, but actually I could say that about so many of your nature shots. You live in a beautiful country. Thanks for showing it to others from your perspective...

Kind regards,

Jim

I really don't mind foggy starts of the day.
Hi Janice, what a lovely picture full of atmosphere and subdued colours.
Sometimes I shove my chair back from the computer and just get me a longer look to enjoy and that is exactly what I am going to do here.
Yesterday Dingo (no- not Australian) provided me with such a picture.

Thanks!
Els
