This is Monster. Although she really wasn't so bad. In fact, we got along quite well. She was named for her rather throaty "MMMMMRRRRROOOWWWWW!", not the average "meow".
I shot her out in the yard using a Bronica ETRS with Kodak TMAX film. Not much post digital process here. Just a little cloning to remove dust from the neg scan, and a run through Neat Image to smooth any grain. |

A really great portrait of your cat, John! I love the black and white and the lighting is perfect.
Hi John,
Nice shot. The dof looks good as her face remains sharp and pops away from the blurred background. In my opinion, though, the contrast needs a little more "oomph," as the shadows on the side of Monster's face look a little flat. However, overall exposure looks good. And, you were able to catch some really fine details. That film is really good. Well done!
Richard
I just uploaded a workshop with the corrected contrast, see if it helps.
Nice portrait! I love those little wild monsters!and you got an expression of hers... quite focusing on something i would say;)
Nice bw, thanks for sharing!
