The details and color of the orchid are wonderful. I like the light and shadows in the shot. The D.O.F. is really good allowing the orchid to stand out.

But even more impressive is the orchid, we have a few species of orchids growing wild in Norway too but nothing like this...
excellent details and the colours are well reproduced!

Very nice orchid. Very attractive but in my opinion the dark bottom right hand corner spoils your picture. I have done a very quick and simple workshop to remove this area. Otherwise well photographed.

Beautiful picture of this Orchid. Wonderful plant they are.
Today, Meri and I repotted some of the many orchids we have in the house. A large one who use to give many huge white flowers, we split off a smaller one. Hope both will survive in fresh ground.

Not bad work mate - good exposure overall, good DOF and good bokeh.

Two suggestions though -

1 maybe you could have shaded the orchid so that the direct sunlight wasn't hitting it? That has created a strong shadow and a strongly-lit petal.

2 maybe you could have gone for a smaller aperture and deeper field of focus so that more of the orchid was sharp?

This one is so attractive, no wonder why bugs get lured!

Hi Jusni,

I am now beginning to appreciate photos of flowers because I have just realised the pains in taking a REALLY good snap of flowers and it is not easy.

Your photo of this orchid is exposed well and the colours really come through. Having a lens capable of macro must be really handy. I will have to save more money in order to afford good lens.

The orchid actually looks like Slipper Orchids but I might be wrong.

i always like orchids for they are beautiful & can last longer in the vase. to me all orchids, wild or in the garden, are attractive.

this one is no exception but little oe on some parts. colours & sharpness are great.
