Hello, Brian.
I rather like this one! I just wonder if you could have made it just a bit more dramatic and eye-catching, though.
I don't nean to be critical, but the file size is just 38Kb and I wonder, if you had posted it to nearer the 200Kb limit, there might have been a bit more detail and contrast in there.
Perhaps a little more contrast would have brought out the light and dark of the door a little more aggressively. The brass lock is just a tad bright and darkening that might have given more detail in it too.
I notice that you often mention "gamma". That's something I've heard about but I don't really understand it. I don't have CS3: just an old version of PS7, the Elements 2 which came with my camera and Elements 6 which I bought a few months ago. Is CS3 that very much better?
I've done a wee workshop for you, Brian - I hope you won't be offended - see what you think.
Best Wishes,
John.
Hi Brian
the effect you made is beautiful
I like this artificial grey and the composition too
the lock in the center is really perfect

Hi Brian
I like the simplicity of this shot.
Who else would think about turning a red door into B/W.
Have added a workshop, hope you like it.
