Hi Folks,

Another mugshot of a hornbill.

Unlike Rhinoceros Hornbill with a prominent curved casque, this one is a Plain-Pouched Hornbill.

Please read here for more info.

Thanks for viewing.

Assalammualaikum Agoes,
This would make this, a portrait work of the avian kind.A slight motion blur coming from the hornbill noticeable on the eye and beak. I would suggest never to shoot anything that has a life in it, at 1/10s or less unless they are dead :) or you can keep them still. The moment your shutterspeed is at 1/10s, switch to the next higher ISO.

Wassalam

Wow, you have some very good portraits of some very interesting birds. Hardly even looks real. Great colors.

Thnaks for the nice critique on "F/T CLOTHES/CLOTHING".

Selamat pagi, dear Agoes.
Excellent close up of this wonderful bird.!
Question, did you shoot it 'in the wild'?
I had the luck, to shoot a Hornbill specie, at the mutiara resort on Langkawi, I will post it later, dont know the reall name.
Think I shall upload one of that pictures in your ws, right ?
Will take a while.
Thanks for posting this picture. Unbelieveble how birds can be.
Have a nice evening, dear Agoes.
Selamat Malam.
Jan
ps: just uploaded my Hornbill? in the ws.

Assalamualaikum Agoes. The mugshot is good with nicely muted background. Good clarity especially in the eye. I like the pleasant crop and perspective in this shot. Best regards. Jusni

Hi Agoes,

Very brights colours and really good composition of the portrait. But I think there is a little vibration that affected the sharpness of the photo. You must have handheld at 1/10 exposure. It's not too noticeable though. I only really notice it if I concentrate on looking at the bird's eye.

TFS.

Regards,
Alvin
