Close to my home is a wildlife reserve called Sywell Country Park.

When I was there this weekend there was a massive hatch of Damsel Flies. Everywhere you walked, you stirred up clouds of little electric blue darts, about 3cm long.

They are the males. The females are much plainer,and harder to see, but come in a variety of colours.

this is an amazing macro shot. details are excellent, colors are very vibrant, and the framing is spot on.
