Another shot of mating Damsel Flies.

I'm taking on board a comment from yesterday's image, and posting this one with out a border. Although it's not to my normal taste ( I believe sympathetic borders normally improve the impact of an image greatly)I can appreciate that subjects with fine detail need as much image area as possible to see them at their best.

Technically there is room for improvement here, as the abdomen of the female, and the ear of grass are overexposed, but I hope it doesn't stand out too much.

Hi Andy
Wow, fantastic colours and amazing detail especially of their wings.
Looks ok without the frame.
Karen

Hi Andy
A very good image. Very sharp detail. I agree that you have some slight overexposure. Very well done.
Mike

PS Well done for uploading this image without a border. We therefore see a larger image. We now see more image surrounded by the light blue border provided by Trek Lens.

Hi Andy,

i believe this is from a different angle but is still great in clarity & sharpess. i like how the blue one slips in between straw/leaf.

a superb shot indeed.

Hello Andy,
beautifully composed macro.I don't think the tiny bit of over exposure matters as the colours are exposed in all their vibrancy.I don't recall seeing a better macro shot of damsel flies. These are shown in all their fine detail.Love the delicacy of the wings.

Bev

very nice and clear shot. well done Andy.

hello Andy,
The detail and the iridescent blue against the green BD is really stunning!
The image is saturated with so much colour that the lack of a frame is of little consequence.

Hiya Andy

A stunning shot here with excellent clarity and detail. The colour saturation is good and I am not sure what the comment was you had about framing... I usually use frames but have recently been rather choosy as I find now I loose some of the image detail as the actual shot becomes smaller. So in this instance I think you made the right choice.

TFS regards Helen
