Mokume Gane 1
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| This is a close-up detail of a brooche that is one of my own creations. The material is polymer clay and the technique used is called Mokume Gane after a Japanese metal-working technique of the same name. It involves the layering and deliberate distortion of different coloured artists modelling clays and metal foils. The object is fired, sanded and polished. No paint or varnish is involved. |

Hi Serge,
A simple subject that resulted a very nice abstract photo. Love the texture and color here. Would be more interesting if you can share with us what this is...
Regards,
Ramdan

Hi Serge,
Very nice shot. I like the crop you did here and the coating pattern is really interesting, looks almost reptilian. I think there is a red cast with is fogging the image slightly. I have done a workshop to show you, obviously I don't know what the colour of this item is in real life so perhaps I am a bit off. I hope you like it and I hope you don't mind.
