[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
As promised, I am posting here a closer look of the safety gears that will be provided for the climbers of Ferrata. As seen in this photo, the high quality set consists of a safety helmet, a harness (on the right) and a lanyard (in red color) with carabiners (attached to the lanyard). For extra precaution, the instructor will normally bring an extra harness and lanyards with carabiners as seen hanging on the instructor’s harness in this photo.

While those above listed gears are a must, a climber will also need warm clothing, gloves, a water bottle, comfortable hiking shoes, raincoat, energy snacks e.g. chocolate, nuts, glucose, sweets, sunglass and sun lotion (beware of the strong UV rays), a small backpack to hold your things and a towel.

Another ‘compulsory’ is a good ear to listen to the instructor’s guides, tips and instructions on how to negotiate the more difficult obstacles, as well as highlight some of the spectacular sights along the way.

We don’t actually need to really worry about what and what and what is Via Ferrata and what we need to have for the climb. Upon arrival at the Pendant Hut, a day before the climbing day, a climber will usually be given a brief training on how to put the gears and proper technique on using them. The instructors will nicely and clearly tell the ‘rules’ to successfully do the climb, and will answer our A to Z questions about the activity. In the morning before the climb begins, the professional and friendly instructors will again, help the climber to make the gears properly worn, perfectly done for safety and comfort – their friendliness will give you more confidence about the safety and enjoyable experience of Via Ferrata.

Happy shooting,
Ramdan
P/s: the backdrop in this shot is one of the peaks of Mount Kinabalu, named South Peak.

Wow, what a colorful picture, Ramdan.
It looks to be a very atventured day, never thought there are 'naked rocks' up there.
Pity, the instructore is showing his back, but it shows all the gear quite well.
Interesting store you wrote too.

Assalamualaikum Ramdan. You must be having a lot of fun being up there with the camera. The rockface is so sharp with well exposed detail. The colorful climbing gears with fine notes are well captured. Stunning composition against the blue sky with little trace of white cloud. Thanks for sharing and best regards. Jusni
