UNDERWATER KELPS ABOVE GROUND

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
On June 14, 2008, I went to the opening of the Dale Chihulis exhibit at the De Young Museum in San Francisco. It was the biggest art exhibition yet done by the artisan team of Dale Chihulis. I was treated to a beautiful exhibit of lights, forms and colors.
Shown in this photo are all blown glass objects with lights inside and outside. The blown glass art objects rest on a dark reflective surface that adds to the bigger and flowing images. It blurs the transition from the actual images and the reflected images.
What are shown in the museum are the "Blown Glass sculptures" of Chihuly and his team of artisans. Over the years Chihuly and his teams have created a wide vocabulary of blown forms, revisiting and refining earlier shapes while at the same time creating exciting new elements. shown in this photo are his versions of underwater images.
To give you an idea of the scale of these objects take a look at my WORKSHOP photo.
