An Old Barn for Karen

Karen Arnold / dareco
has been posting some very interesting old barns she has come across in Canada. I told her that I would look out for some in New Zealand.

This one we found in the western side of Akaroa Harbour in the South Island, when we were holidaying there in April this year.

As you can see, the clouds were quite low and the sky was very silver. There had been a draught - note the dry hills and grasses – and the rain when it came was very welcome.

In the WORKSHOP I have posted an image showing the barn closer - but I thought you'd like to see this photo showing the harbour and surrounding views.

For you Karen - A Kiwi barn

New Zealand is a lovely place indeed. We have close relatives living there. Hopin were gonna live there too someday, in the will of God.

Your picture is excellent indeed. Great work.

Hi Janice,

love the light and your choice of composition.
New Zealand must be a gorgeous country. Unfortunately for me (i live in Portugal) New Zealand is literally the most distant country... i hope that in the future i'll visit that beautiful part of world.

Best regards,
Romeu

The composition of this one is really superb! I love the contrast between the hard lines of the building and the curves of the slopes

Thank you so much!!! You've made my day!! :) A very interesting old Kiwi barn, quite different than ours. I love it!! And the scenery around is very beautiful!! I also love that old tree. Thank you so much for thinking of me. I hope to see more of these barns. Have a great day!

Hello Janice, an excellent view of this broken down old barn. The workshop shots are interesting,I like the closer view.
The tree seems to add to the feeling of desolation.I like the soft colours of this version.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Skies much the same as our have been the last few days Janice. A lovely scene, well composed and good detail.

Hi Janice,

beautifully composed, peaceful shot. I like the colours here. Kinda nostalgic mood caused apparently by tumbleddown barn and died tree. tfs

Marek

P.S. Tahnks for your information about the flower!

It is a fine nature picture
I like the low clouds
And the colors of the barn
