[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was at a conference in Napa Valley, California.(a great place to visit,by the way. Lots of wine making and ballooning).Anyway,the conference was a long 2 day affair. The hotel had a lovely pond with an assortment of ducks and swans paddling around.I have always loved black swans, and used to go out and visit with this boyo on my breaks. This shot must have been taken at the noon break as the sun is on his back.

Framing-- after I posted this I am thinking the grey of the matt is too dark. Ah well, on another day I will get it right....C'est la vie.

Looks like a little dragon with the tail feathers creating a ridge on his head :-).

Bonjour Joni,
I like much this splendid photo! You balanced so well your composition. Excellent use of light making bright colors with a effective rendered of the gleams. Sharp details on the plumage and little flowers. This is a very nice image! However, I would make a white frame, but it is just my personal taste!

I like the subtle colours in the b/g which compliment the swan well. Nice POV and sharp details too.

Hello Joni
The delicate herbs at foreground and the blue ripples add an undeniable charm to the scenery. The swan is located on a sweet spot in accordance with a fine composition.
An excellent control of light on dark plumage and fine expression of bird.
