Today is the Holiday of Saint John the Baptist, which is the Quebec National Holiday.

For the occasion, we went to the brand new Promenade Samuel-De Champlain, located on the bank of the St.Lawrence River, which was inaugurated today. There we met a public entertainer personifying a charming fully-licensed Captain inviting ladies for dancing.

Hi Michel,

nice attempt, but having some problems. First of all the shot is overexposed - especially the ground which gives kind of discomfort to the viewer. Another weakness is light which (similarly to central flash) flattens the scene. Last issue are disturbing elements: people in the distance, part of another dancing couple - if the last one would be more visible, this would create more dynamic scene. But they are covered too much. They should disappear or be visible much, much more.

I think that the solution would be change of POV. If you'd move to the left, you'd have them shot against much more contrastiong bg (the sea). THis would solve also presence of unwanted people as well as would show better specifics of the place. Also the light would sculpture much better the shapes of their bodies, being absolutely lateral in that case.

I hope you don't mind I have written this long critique *s*
