***Please an extra good thought for me today as I do a Cardio Lite stress test and I'm feeling pretty lousey this morning..

This is shot is of an antique ring that the mother of the bride, gave to the bride as a wedding present. This is "something old" as in the four things you are supposed to wear in your wedding. "Something old, Something new, Something borrowed, Something blue"

For this shot I processed from Raw, Converted to BW, then grabbed just the ring off the color copy and made just the ring in color. Then did some vignetting around the hands an took it a bit further by dropping out the BG. Is used Corel Pro X and Photoscape...hince the loss of my EXIF data... B-( ....But I do remember my settings.

Hope you all have a great day and a wonderful weekend!
Linda

This is super, Linda!
I love the conversion with a bit of colour left for the ring == very old-fashioned feeling to it and of course the font adds to that

The f7.1 has led to a good depth of sharpness, if that is a meaningful term! The pp work is very effective here, that ring stands out nicely. This is quality work all round.

Good luck with the stress test!

Hi Linda !

The old ring is wonderful and so is your PP, too, but the modern nails don't fit, I'm afraid. It's looking odd, imho

have a great weekend,
v

Good capture, very nice pp work and composition too.
Black and white with the touch of color is a great idea for this,
Very nicely done. Good addition to the theme and interesting title too.
Take care, good luck and TFS,

Hi Linda,

Your post processing work is fantastic. I'm a novice with photofiltre right now, but can't wait to gain more experience and do these things. It's really a nice image isolating the beautiful ring. I bet a jeweler would love a photo like this to showcase his/her rings, watches, etc....

Feel better..... treat yourself to a nice dinner somewhere! :D Lisa

Hi Linda,

Superb !!
Perfect for the theme.
ENJOY :)

Good detail in the shot Linda. Well composed, lovely colour in the ring and well framed. Now if you had just used Corel your data would have been preserved.

Hiya Linda

Hope your feelin ok now girl;-)

Love this shot, superb de sat work and wonderful POV and framing. Did you know that there is an additional line to that saying "and a sixpence in your shoe" in the Uk we used to have a tiny silver coin which was six old pennies and it was customary for the bride to wear one inside her shoe... coindidently it was also customary to hide a sixpence inside a christmas pudding when it was being cooked too. I am sure there were many a broken tooth on Christmas morning in those days lol

TFS and for joining in the theme

kind regards Helen

Love this linda, its kind of expression inside the picture itself.... very original

Amri HMS

Nice b&w conversion and good technique to keep the ring saturated. When combined with the simple but effective frame this is a striking picture.
