Silver Fern – in a Distorted and Negative Way

For Photoclub next week we have to take along a distorted image. This is one idea of mine.

When Helen suggested a Negative theme a few weeks back this is one of the photos that I worked on. It is a negative of the underside of a New Zealand Silver Fern. It is the SILVER side.

And in Photoshop CS2 I have played with filters and this is Ocean Ripple

Any ideas or suggestions are most welcome. Or if you know of any other good filters I could use, I would appreciate you telling me. . .

I'll put the original negative in the Workshop.

Hi Janice,
Nice POV on our national emblem ... wonderfully processed and presented. I like the complimentary border to give a subtle framing. Well done! tfs
Cheers,
Renier

Effective treatment Janice. Looks like a fine abstract.
Dennis

Hi Janice,
Renier has taken the words right out of my mouth, a new take on our national emblem.
As a camera club entry, I think it would benefit to eliminate the frame...the KISS principal. Also try it in monochrome.
Good luck with it.
Pete.

The composition here is superb, of course and the textures marvellous. I like the edging/framing too -- the right touch with that ocean ripple filter

Hi Janice

Brave and very very effective! I love what you have done here, its very original and works well. Nice angle on the capture and neat calm tones and hues. Lovely work here

TFS regards Helen

I do like the original Janice and your PP work most impressive. Nice colour and detail is still preserved.
