And the Miracle of Christmas in May continues in the semi-tropics.....
I have been watching the Christmas cactus and yesterday morning the first signs of the buds beginning to unfold were taking place. I quickly set my camera up and took a few photos to share the very first birth of the first flower of Christmas in May.
Maturing of the hundreds of buds on the plant should take place very quickly now and hopefully there will be another post tomorrow.

Tech:
Just cropping and adjusting contrast, brightness and levels. Added a few festive Christmas stamps just for fun.

Thank you for visiting me again in my little corner of this vast land of Treklens. I apologize to each of you for not critiqueing lately. Have had a little bad luck that has kept me away. I will do my best to make up for it....
Thank you for your visit...... Kat

You've been watching the cactus for some days and had no time for TL:-))
I just would e-mail you today, but you're here again, nice to see you:-))
A funny Christmas-card in red lines too, in spring, three different views on the cactus, nice and creative work it is, Kathleen !

Beautiful compilation of images Kat. Amazing to see a christmas cactus so early. Have not seen you around for a while hope everything is ok. TFS

Peter

Nicely done, Kathleen! We had our Xmas cactus flowering a few weeks ago, too. Ours grows inside though! I like the montage you made; the assymetry works well here. Thanks for sharing and hope all's well!

Glad you are feeling a little better today Kat. I like this spring-christmas collage of the cactus. It's a real treat to see the blooms this time of the year. I love the real close up one. Cute Santa hat. The red frames and green background really do give a christmassy feel. This would make a great Christmas card for this year.

Crazy to speak about Christmas at this time! Could you stop to mention it please. It's seems to influence the temperature.. Plaise show a palmtree tomorrow :O)
Vivid colors! Great one!

A very nice collection here Kat, the colors and exposure are right on.

Hi Kat, you know I'm not into X-Mas mood right now but you show us the combination of green and red that makes us think of X-Mas. A very nice serie, I would love to have plants like that in the garden but the nearby sea won't allow it, to salty air and to cold and wet country. Enjoy your treasures in the garden, one doesn't have to travel far because treasures are sometimes right in front of us... ;-)
See you again Kat, have to catch some sleep now...
